At the much-anticipated teaser launch of Prabhas's upcoming film The Raja Saab, producer TG Vishwa Prasad took the press and fans through filming the horror-comedy in 120 days. "The toughest thing was that our peak schedule was after Kalki, and I don’t know how Maruthi managed; they started at 6 am and ended at 11 PM for more than 120 days. You’ll see the grandest 40-minute-long climax that was shot in those 120 days," Prasad said at the Hyderabad event, adding that another 300 days were spent on VFX work.

Director Maruthi reportedly clarified at the event that the actors stuck to eight-hour work days, but the crew had to pull in more hours to make sure the film was completed on time. “What happens, they (actors) will work an eight-hour shift. I will keep some actors on one side (shift) and then [shoot with] some actors. But we (the crew) will work 18 hours a day: from morning, 6 am to 10 pm, we used to work definitely. That is why we could shoot this much quality and content,” he reportedly told India Today.

This comes on the sidelines of a larger conversation about ideal working hours on film sets, a debate that snowballed after Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas's Spirit. Vanga was reportedly unhappy about Padukone's demand to only work for eight hours a day.

Days after Padukone's exit, several prominent actors have lent their support to her requirements. Ajay Devgn noted that many in the industry already operate on similar schedules. “Most of the honest filmmakers will not have problems with it,” he said. “And apart from this, being a mother and working for eight hours, most people have started working eight-hour shifts.”

Backed by People Media Factory, The Raja Saab is produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad. The Raja Saab has cinematography by Karthik Palani and music by Thaman S. Its cast includes Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar.

Days before the teaser launch, portions of the video were leaked on the internet. But the makers quickly intervened. "Strict action will be taken and handles will be suspended immediately if any leaked content from #TheRajaSaab is found…. We request everyone to cooperate and stand with us in protecting the experience…. Let’s celebrate responsibly. Be aware," the film's official handle on X wrote.
