'Toxic' Box Office Collection Day 1: Yash Smashes Records in Hindi as Film Takes Giant ₹140 Crore Global Opening

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was a juggernaut on day 1 (Wednesday) as it opened to huge box-office figures across the board, setting records in Hindi as well as globally for a Kannada film. Headlined by Yash, the gangster action epic marked the star's return to the big screen after the historic success of K.G.F: Chapter 2.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups put up a huge India nett of around ₹101 crore across 24,579 shows.

'Toxic' Box Office Collection Day 1 (Hindi Version)

Out of this, Hindi alone clocked in an estimated ₹55 crore, recording the highest opening day ever for an original South film in the Hindi market. The opening day figures were better than some of the Bollywood tentpole films in Hindi, Ranbir Kapoor-led Animal, Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which had minted a similar figure in 2023.

Overseas, the film grossed a total of ₹20 crore, pushing its total worldwide gross collection to ₹140.75 crore. With a global opening of over ₹100 crore, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups emerged as the second Kannada film in history to cross the milestone after K.G.F: Chapter 2.

The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

In Kannada, the film recorded its best occupnacy at 89 percent, leading to nett collections of ₹23.30 crore. The Telugu version netted ₹16 crore, followed by Tamil (₹5.50 crore) and Malayalam, which contributed around ₹1.30 crore, taking the all-India nett tally to an estimated ₹101 crore.
