Recent reports claimed Dhawan had left the project owing to scheduling issues, a month after Diljit Dosanjh dropped out of the film over the same reason
Producer Boney Kapoor has brushed off rumours of Varun Dhawan stepping away from the sequel to No Entry, the fruity hit comedy from 2005. Recent reports suggested that Varun— following in the footsteps of Diljit Dosanjh — was backing away from the project owing to date issues.
In a new statement, Boney clarified that Varun and Arjun remain committed to the project. "We are making No Entry Mein Entry, and Varun and Arjun are very much in the film. We are in active discussions to lock our other hero and the rest of the cast," the producer said.
Directed and written by Anees Bazmee, No Entry (2005) starred Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan as a trio of friends caught in a comic tangle, with marriages and loyalties hanging in the balance. Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley rounded out the glossy ensemble.
First announced in 2019, No Entry Mein Entry was supposed to feature Diljit Dosanjh as its third lead. However, in September, Boney, in an interview, confirmed Dosanjh's departure from the film. The Punjabi actor-singer has been landing high-profile roles in Hindi cinema, from frisky comedies (Good Newzz, Detective Sherdill) to earthy and heart-rending dramas (Amar Singh Chamkila).
"Yes, we have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning with our requirements. Hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together," Kapoor had told NDTV.
Diljit was recently announced as the lead of Imtiaz Ali's next. The actor and director collaborated on the 2024 film Amar Singh Chamkila, winning widespread acclaim.
Varun was recently seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a romantic comedy co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. The film was released in Indian theatres on October 2, clashing with Kantara: Chapter 1. Arjun, meanwhile, had a single release in 2025, the three-way comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
