According to several news reports from Kerala, superstar Mohanlal and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will come together for an event to promote ‘Operation Toofan’ and lure the youth away from drug use. Operation Toofan, launched in May, is an anti-narcotics campaign run in the state by the Home Department, the Kerala Police, and the Kerala Excise Department. Vijay and Mohanlal acted together playing father and son in 2014’s hit film Jilla, which also got a re-release last month.
Chennithala had assured, according to reports, that Vijay would work closely with the state to curb the use of narcotics and dismantle drug networks across the state. A function is also said to take place in August as part of this campaign. Mohanlal has already signed on as the ambassador for Operation Toofan.
On the movie front, Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming Tamil film Jana Nayagan will arrive in theatres a day earlier than planned. KVN Productions made the official announcement on social media, putting an end to various speculations about the release date.
"There are very few moments in cinema that feel truly historic, and Jana Nayagan is one such moment. As Thalapathy Vijay prepares for his final outing on the big screen, we are honoured to be a part of this journey and to bring this special film to his fans across the world. It has been remarkable to witness a journey that began with cinema and went on to inspire millions, ultimately leading him to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu — a testament to the extraordinary connection he shares with the people. We are confident that Jana Nayagan will be a memorable theatrical experience and a fitting tribute to a phenomenal career,” said producer Venkat K. Narayana in a press note.”
