Directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, the Telugu film was launched with a pooja ceremony on Saturday
Actors Keerthy Suresh and Vijay Deverakonda will next be seen together in a film directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, who is known for helming films such as Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru (2019) and Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam (2022). The film was launched with a pooja ceremony in Hyderabad on Saturday. Dil Raju and Shirish are said to be backing the project under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Deverakonda had posted this on X.“Every time I encounter him, I feel an urge to kick off the film right away and channel Ravi's enthusiasm and vision… now we are finally heading to the sets this month.” Anend C Chandran, who had shot Malayalam hits such as Premam (2015), is handling the camera. Other details about the cast and crew have been kept under wraps.
In an earlier interview with THR India, Deverakonda opened up about his complicated relationship with Arjun Reddy, the 2017 Telugu film that launched him into national prominence. Though it became a cult sensation and defined a generation of Indian anti-heroes, the actor has often spoken about his desire to move beyond it. Now, he says he has finally stopped trying to outpace its shadow.
“Just recently, I was at Namit Malhotra’s house and some of his friends had come specifically to come to see me because they love Arjun Reddy,” Deverakonda shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. “It’s a good thing. I used to fight it for a long time because I used to feel that I needed to do something better that beats it.” That pressure, he admits, has gradually lifted.
Most recently, he had made news after a car crash. Deverakonda quickly reassured fans that he was unharmed following a minor car accident near Hyderabad. The star took to Instagram to calm growing concern after reports of the mishap surfaced online. “All is well! Car took a hit, but we are all fine,” Deverakonda wrote on his Instagram story. “Went and did a strength workout as well, and just got back home. My head hurts, but nothing a biryani and sleep will not fix. So, biggest hugs and my love to all of you. Don’t let the news stress you.”
