Shooting with Tamil superstar Vijay on his final film, Jana Nayagan, was a bittersweet experience for Pooja Hegde. In an exclusive conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Hegde reflected on the roller coaster of emotions that was the Jana Nayagan shoot.

"I am excited for the film releasing in January," Hegde said. "It is Vijay sir's last film." Looking back on her last shot with the actor, who is quitting acting to enter politics full-time, Hegde admitted it left her feeling 'sad'.

"Honestly, I was just sad. Working with Vijay sir is the most relaxing experience. He is so cool and a totally chill person. I think in his mind he knows he is a superstar and he doesn't feel the need to prove that because he is so comfortable with himself. He's the sweetest co-star to work with," Hegde said, adding that she understands Vijay's decision to pursue a new phase in his career.

"He has bigger dreams and different dreams in mind, and he needs to follow that," she said.

Still, it wasn't a final farewell as Hegde is looking forward to joining Vijay at the audio launch of Jana Nayagan next year. "He's still one of those people I meet up with, and he's always very sweet."

Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, is a political action drama starring Vijay as a cop. The actor's 69th and final film also features Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj and others.

Pooja Hegde, who was last seen in Retro, recently broke the internet with her stylish dance moves in 'Monica', a high-energy number from Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film, Coolie. A much sought-after name across industries, she will next star in the Telugu horror-comedy Kanchana 4, alongside Nora Fatehi.

"I have a Telugu film and two Tamil films coming up as well as a Hindi film (Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai)," Hegde told THR India.
