Here is what to watch in theatres this week:

Hindi

Ramayana

Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, Ramayana sees director Nitesh Tiwari’s two part epic finally fill the screens this week.

The film centers on the conflict between Lord Ram and Ravana while showcasing the expansive mythological world recreated for the big screen. The visual assets released by the makers up till now show Ramayana built around the key events from the epic, including Ram and Sita's wedding, Kaikeyi's decision that sends Ram, Sita and Lakshman into a 14-year exile, and the events that ultimately set up the battle between Ram and Ravana. Ravana also declares himself as the new ruler of the heavens, earth and the underworld,

Produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios together with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the film features a music score by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, and also stars Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Anupam Kher as the voice of Jatayu, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, alongside Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Shobana, Saurabh Sachdeva and Faisal Malik.

Ramayana will release in theatres worldwide on November 5, with paid previews on November 4.

Scene

Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Scene stars Suriya in the lead role as DSP Inbaraj — an unbothered and laid-back police officer who resigns from his post at the pinnacle of his career, putting everyone at shock.

Enjoying his time alone at home and unwilling to go back to work, it is only when his main opposition, the cold-blooded criminal Eeswaran (Naslen) comes into the picture that prompts him to take up an unfinished case he left open years ago. This time, he is forced to solve the case with a chaotic team.

The film also stars Nazriya Nazim in a lead role, alongside actors Anandraj and Lal. Scene will arrive in theatres on November 6.

Appa Kutty

Appa Kutty is directed by Mu. Maran and stars Vijay Antony and Preethi Asrani in lead roles.

The action drama centers on the father-daughter duo (played by Antony and Asrani) and their unbreakable bond which is tested when Antony, a devoted father, is forced to fight a fierce and high-stakes battle to protect his daughter from the outside forces that threaten her life.

The film will arrive in theatres on November 6.

Mookuthi Amman 2

Reprising her titular role as Mookuthi Amman, Nayanthara is back as the divine goddess in Sundar C's theatrical sequel.

The actor will be seen playing a dual role. In one, she plays a police officer who seems to be unnerved by ordinary everyday situations, including sleeping alone, as she is haunted by sights no one else can see. In the other, she plays the goddess Mookuthi Amman, a character she first portrayed in the 2020 film of the same name. The two roles intertwine when she is consumed by a threat that is beyond her control.

The film also stars actors Regina Cassandra and Duniya Vijay as antagonists, alongside Urvashi, Yogi Babu, Myna Nandhini, Abhinaya, Garuda Raam, Shruthy S, Singapuli Annavi, and more.

Malayalam

Disco

Disco, directed by Ullas Chemban, is set against an upbeat and retro backdrop and follows a group of reckless, rowdy friends who, in their pursuit of making easy money, find themselves tangled in an underground mystery.

Led by Antony Varghese, the film also stars Arjun Ashokan, Dev Mohan, Lukman Avaran, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Sagar Surya, Meera Vasudevan, Gayatri Suresh and Femina George.

Disco will release in theatres on November 6.
