Exclusive | Imran Khan Announces Comeback After a Decade With Netflix Rom-Com 'Adhure Hum Adhure Tum'

More than a decade after his last screen appearance, Imran Khan is officially returning to the movies. The actor, whose final film was Katti Batti (2015), directed by Nikkhil Advani and co-starring Kangana Ranaut, has wrapped shooting on his long-awaited comeback project.

In an exclusive conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Khan revealed that he has completed work on Adhure Hum Adhure Tum, a Netflix original that is currently in post-production and is slated for release later this year.

"I have just finished shooting a new movie," Khan said. "It's my first movie in 10 years and we're in post-production right now. It's called Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. It's for Netflix and is scheduled to come out end of this year. It's a grown-up romantic comedy... age-appropriate to where I am now."

The announcement marks the end of years of speculation surrounding Khan's return to acting. Since stepping away from films after Katti Batti, the actor has largely remained out of the public eye, making only occasional media appearances while fans continued to hope for a comeback.

Describing the project as one that felt worth waiting for, Khan hinted that the film reflects both his personal and professional evolution. Rather than returning with a conventional commercial entertainer, the actor has chosen a story that mirrors the stage of life he now finds himself in.

"I've just worked with a really great young actor, Gurfateh Pirzada," Khan added. "Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. It's the one I simply had to make after 10 years."

While plot details remain under wraps, Khan's description suggests a mature romantic comedy that moves beyond the youthful coming-of-age characters that defined much of his early career.
