After a year of back-to-back appearances across film and streaming, actor Mona Singh has confirmed she will feature in a new cyber-crime drama produced by Rajkumar Hirani, marking the filmmaker’s debut as a showrunner on an OTT series.

In an exclusive conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Singh confirmed that she will star opposite Vikrant Massey in the yet-to-be-announced show. The project carries a personal resonance for the actor: she made her film debut in Hirani’s blockbuster 3 Idiots (2009), and the collaboration now comes full circle more than a decade later.

“There’s a beautiful show that’s going to be announced. It’s something I’m excited about. Raju Hirani has produced it,” Singh said. The series is said to be centred on cyber crime, though further details about the plot and release timeline remain under wraps.

Singh’s confirmation comes amid one of the busiest stretches of her career. In 2026 alone, the actor has appeared across multiple high-profile projects including Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, the sequel Border 2 and the action drama Subedaar on Amazon Prime Video. She also headlined the acclaimed crime series Kohrra for its second season on Netflix.

Next up, Singh will be seen in the upcoming series Ma Ka Sum, which premieres on Amazon Prime Video on April 3. The show also stars Angira Dhar, Mihir Ahuja and Ranveer Brar. Describing the premise, Singh said the series explores an unconventional family dynamic. “It is a progressive show where the son, who is a math genius, is working on an algorithm to find his mother a date,” she said.

Another project in the pipeline is Paan Parda Zarda, directed by Gurmmeet Singh of Mirzapur fame. The series also features Tanya Maniktala, Shushant Singh and Priyanshu Painyuli. “I’m playing a gangster in it,” Singh said. “I love the title — paan is love, parda is secrets, and zarda is the illegal stuff,” she said with a laugh.

With projects spanning genres from family comedy to crime and action, Singh’s schedule suggests a deliberate embrace of range and a refusal to be boxed.
