The teaser for Malayalam superhero origin film Cosmic Samson introduces Sandeep Pradeep as a pizza delivery agent with extraordinary powers, seen leaping off a building unscathed after a call from his father, played by Mukesh. Directed by Abhijith Joseph and backed by Weekend Blockbusters, the October 2026 release promises stylised action by Hollywood choreographer Vlad Rimburg.
The makers of Cosmic Samson, the upcoming Malayalam-language superhero film directed by Abhijith Joseph and starring Sandeep Pradeep, debuted a teaser for the film on August 23.
Titled 'Curtain Raiser', the video asset opens with a silhouette of Sandeep's character sitting atop a building, listening to a classic Malayalam hit song, 'Ekaantha Chandrike', from In Harihar Nagar. His father, played by Mukesh (who starred in In Harihar Nagar), calls him and asks him to 'stop chilling' and return home. The character then jumps off the building and lands without injury, flexing his superhero abilities.
Sharing the teaser on social media, the makers wrote, "The curtain is up…The stage is set…
Brace yourselves.. COSMIC SAMSON is coming soon !"
Comic Samson also stars Mukesh, Miya George, Anuraj OB, Alphonse Puthren, and Althaf Salim. The film brings Pradeep back to the screen after his 2025 hits Alappuzha Gymkhana, Padakkalam, and Eko.
Abhijith Joseph, who previously directed John Luther, has written the film along with co-writer Abhikersh Vasanth. Bino T. Abraham is the film's executive producer, along with producers Sophia Paul, under her banner Weekend Blockbusters, and Manuel Cruz Darwin of D Group. Weekend Blockbusters has previously produced Bangalore Days (2014), Minnal Murali (2021), RDX (2023) and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol (2017).
The technical crew includes cinematographer Deepak D. Menon, editor Chaman Chakko and composer Sibi Mathew Alex. Hollywood action director Vlad Rimburg, who previously worked on Minnal Murali, is credited with the action sequences, marking his Malayalam debut in this role.
Earlier this year, the makers had shared the first poster for the film, which showed Sandeep's character, a pizza delivery agent, looking through a peephole.
The film's production is said to have wrapped, after it began in December last year. Although an official release schedule has not been announced by the makers, promotional content released so far mentions an October 2026 release.
