The trailer for Gladiators – In Pursuit of Challenges offers an intimate look at Ajith Kumar’s evolution from Tamil superstar to dedicated racer. Featuring insights from his wife Shalini, children, racer Narain Karthikeyan and his team, the documentary highlights Ajith’s pursuit of discipline and precision over glamour, while director Vijay and composer GV Prakash Kumar chronicle his intense motorsport journey.
"A lot of people know Ajith Kumar as an actor," his wife and actress Shalini says in the upcoming documentary Gladiators. "Only a few know how passionate he is about his goals." The trailer for Gladiators – In Pursuit of Challenges was released recently, showing fans an insider look into the Tamil film superstar and racer's motorsports career.
The video features accounts from Ajith's family, including his wife and children, Indian racer Narain Karthikeyan, and other people from his racing team. "He doesn't do this to win a trophy or win accolades, but to feel a few seconds of 'nothing is impossible'," adds Shalini in the video. Ajith pointed out, "Racing isn't about the speed or glamour but about discipline, precision and the ability to make decisions in split seconds."
This will be a documentary about Ajith's racing journey which is being directed by Vijay and have music by GV Prakash Kumar. Director Vijay has made several hit feature films before this including Kireedam starring Ajith. Vijay had most recently directed Kadhal Reset Repeat this year and Mission: Chapter 1 last year with Arun Vijay.
On the film front, Ajith will next be seen in Adhik Ravichandran's Daredevil. It will mark Ajith's return to the screen after over a year's break since Good Bad Ugly, which he spent focusing on his racing aspirations. The film's crew includes editor Vijay Velukutty, cinematographer Abinandhan Ramanujam, stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar and sound designer Suren. The film's first look was recently released.
Team Daredevil also confirmed the onboarding of music composer Anirudh Ravichander, marking his fourth project with the actor after Vivegam, Vedalamand Vidaamuyarchi.
While the makers haven't revealed the rest of the plot or the cast, earlier in mid-July, Ravichandran confirmed that the film's screenplay had been finalised and that all pre-production had been completed.
