Rashmika Mandanna Sustains Hip Injury On Set; Advised Six Weeks of Complete Rest

In the midst of two active film shoots, the actor sustained the injury while shooting back-to-back action and dance sequences

Actress Rashmika Mandanna has sustained a serious hip injury while filming on set, with doctors advising her to take six weeks of complete rest before beginning a structured rehabilitation programme. The injury involved a complete tendon detachment in her hip. Neither Rashmika nor her team has issued an official statement on the injury as of July 31.

According to reports, the actor sustained the injury in the midst of consecutive action and dance shoots across the schedules of her two upcoming films, Ranabaali and Mysaa.

Doctors who examined the injury were reportedly surprised by the severity of the injury, explaining that tendon damage this severe is usually seen in athletes undergoing intensive physical training. Her recovery is advised to be six weeks of rest, followed by a structured rehabilitation program to aid her recovery and help restore strength.

Recently, it was reported that Telugu film star NTR suffered a shoulder injury, after which he was advised a period of complete rest. The actor's team clarified on X that NTR was recovering well.

Ranabaali is a Telugu action epic directed by Rahul Sankrityan, stars Vijay Deverakonda apart from Mandanna. The film is written by Pramod Tammineni with Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar as producers. It is being shot by Nirav Shah, edited by Karthik Srinivas R and the music of the period historical drama is Ajay Atul. The film will also be released in four other versions, including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It is expected to get a grand release on September 11 of this year. 

Mysaa is a Telugu action thriller directed by Rawindra Pulle. The film is written by Raj Kumar Kandamudi and Pulle. Both films are currently in production.
