NTR Suffers Shoulder Injury; Advised Rest for Six Weeks

Telugu film star NTR recently suffered a shoulder injury, after which he was advised a period of complete rest. The actor's team clarified on X that NTR was recovering well.

"We regret to inform everyone that Mr NTR (@tarak9999) sustained an unfortunate shoulder injury earlier this evening. Following a thorough medical evaluation, the team of doctors headed by Dr J. Madhusudan Rao and Dr R. A. Purnachandra Tejaswi has advised complete rest for six to eight weeks to ensure a smooth and complete recovery. We would like to assure everyone that there is absolutely no cause for panic. We will continue to share official updates regarding his health and recovery as and when appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and continued support," the note read.

The actor is currently filming Prashanth Neel's Dragon.

Set in 1967, Dragon explores the opium wars that are fought between two regions and trading companies where the plant is cultivated the most: Afghanistan and the Golden Triangle of Southeast Asia. "In 1947, when the British left India, they also left behind the most profitable business in the world," a voiceover of the film's recently released teaser tells us, going into the history of heroin production and its ramifications in the world of Dragon.

The video then introduces us to the villains of the Afghan Trading Company, as Rukmini Vasanth's character reads verses from Genesis, the Biblical text, to a baby cooing off-camera. The assembly line of characters ends with NTR's ferocious Luger, aka Dragon, who is introduced as the Assassin in Chief of the Afghan Trading Company. And true to his designation, the actor is seen atop a pile of bloodied corpses.

The film, written and directed by Prashanth Neel, will be released on June 11, 2027. The film co-stars NTR, Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Rukmini Vasanth, Khushbu Sundar, Guru Somasundaram, Rajeev Kanakala, and Ashutosh Rana, among others.

NTR will also be seen in Trivikram Srinivas's epic about Lord Muruga. The film will have music by Anirudh Ravichander and will be produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations and Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao Arts.
