Ayushmann Khurrana leads Udta Teer as Bilal, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India and is mistakenly recruited into Indian counter-intelligence. As he unknowingly turns against his own handlers, Bilal’s new patriotic zeal and chaotic missions spark a comic, fast-paced espionage caper, co-starring Sara Ali Khan and a strong ensemble cast.
After Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe arrives another spy comedy, with the trailer of Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment’s Udta Teer now out. Directed by Akash A Kaushik, the fun-filled film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles.
Udta Teer follows Bilal, a Pakistani spy played by Khurrana, who loses his memory while in India and is enlisted as an Indian counter-intelligence soldier. His transformation confuses his Pakistani bosses, who discover that Bilal is now actively working against their interests, killing their agents and waving the Indian tricolour. When a dreaded terrorist, Azhar Maqsood, infiltrates the country, Bilal finds himself in the centre of a mad chase against time.
The trailer introduces a comic take on the espionage genre, with Bilal caught between his former identity and his new allegiance. The ensemble cast includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe.
“In a world where everyone has a secret and nobody can be trusted, one spy accidentally turns the entire game upside down,” reads a synopsis of Udta Teer. The film is billed as a fast-paced spy comedy where “nobody knows what's going on, least of all the hero.”
Udta Teer marks Kaushik’s directorial debut. He recently worked as a writer on Bhooth Bangla (2026) and has been associated with comedy films such as Thank God (2022) and the franchise ensemble Housefull 4 (2019). Udta Teer is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. It is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 9, 2026.
Udta Teer also marks the fourth collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, following projects like The Lunchbox (2013) , Kill (2023), and Gyaarah Gyaarah (2024). Their first collaboration, The Lunchbox, starring Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur, received widespread international acclaim and was screened at prestigious film festivals.
Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan last teamed up for Pati, Patni aur Woh Do, which released in May this year.
