'Adhira' will be the latest instalment in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
Producer Kalyan Dasari is all set to make his debut as a hero in superhero film Adhira. The superhero film, which was long delayed, is now back on track under the banner of RKD Studios. The project was originally created by Prasanth Varma, the successful filmmaker behind Hanu-Man (2024), that starred Teja Sajja in the title role, as well as Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai and Samuthirakani. The film followed the life of Hanumanthu, who saves the people of his village with powers transferred by Lord Hanuman.

Today, the production house unveiled a new poster featuring Kalyan Dasari as a superhero and SJ Suryah as the antagonist in the film. Though its uncertain when the project will go on floors, the new poster indicates that the pre-production for Adhira is underway.
Though Prashanth Varma was initially set to direct the film, now it appears that Sharan Koppisetty will take on the mantle of director. The composer is Sricharan Pakala, with more details on the cast and crew set to be revealed soon.
Meanwhile, Varma will return with another mythological film, centred around the Hindu god, with Jai Hanuman, starring Rishab Shetty. The filmmaker added that it was a dream project for him. “The film is not just about the undying spirit of devotion and courage that Lord Hanuman embodies, but also a reminder that strength guided by faith can move mountains.”
The film, which is set to go on floors soon, is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar. Shetty, who was last seen in his Kannada blockbuster Kantara (2022), is currently working on the prequel to the film, Kantara: Chapter 1, which is headed for an October release.
Meanwhile, SJ Suryah is set to return to direction after a decade of being busy as an actor. His upcoming directorial has been titled Killer, and will be produced by Malayalam production house Sree Gokulam Movies along with SJ Suryah’s Angel Studios. Suryah's last directorial was Isai in 2015.
