Directed by Telugu filmmaker Prasanth Varma, the film will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers
In an interesting collision of worlds, Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series announced that it was going to present Rishab Shetty’s upcoming film Jai Hanuman. The media giant will present the Telugu movie as a pan-India piece.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film will be directed by Prasanth Varma. He rose to fame for making the popular blockbuster Hanu-Man (2024), a Telugu superhero film starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai and Samuthirakani. The film followed the life of Hanumanthu, who saves the people of his village with powers transferred by Lord Hanuman.
The filmmaker now returns to tell yet another mythological film, centred around the Hindu god, with Jai Hanuman. In a press note, the makers added that the film would be “rooted deeply in Indian heritage and spiritual tradition.”
Bhushan Kumar said, “With Jai Hanuman, we are stepping further into large-scale, culturally rooted storytelling. Collaborating with Mythri Movie Makers, we are thrilled to introduce a film that is a celebration of Indian cinema and timeless devotion – our long-standing partnership with them and Rishab Shetty’s performance makes the journey even more special.”
Varma added that it was a dream project for him. “The film is not just about the undying spirit of devotion and courage that Lord Hanuman embodies, but also a reminder that strength guided by faith can move mountains.”
The film, which is set to go on floors soon, is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar. Shetty, who was last seen in his Kannada blockbuster Kantara (2022), is currently working on the prequel to the film, Kantara: Chapter 1, which is headed for an October release.
