'Athimanoharam': Mohanlal's Film Gets Release Date, New Poster Alongside Meera Jasmine

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal confirmed the theatrical release date for his upcoming film, Athimanoharam, via a social media post on June 25. The announcement revealed that the film will open in cinemas on December 24, 2026. The makers also shared a new poster featuring Mohanlal alongside co-star Meera Jasmine, with the caption, "His world begins and ends with the people he calls family."

Athimanoharam is directed by Tharun Moorthy, who previously helmed the Mohanlal-led crime-thriller Thudarum (2025). The film is produced by Ashiq Usman, whose recent productions include Mollywood Times (2026) and Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira (2025). The film’s screenplay is written by Ratheesh Ravi, known for Alappuzha Gymkhana (2025) and Ishq (2019).

The film stars Mohanlal as a police officer named Lovelajan alongside Meera Jasmine, who plays Naisy, the wife of Mohanlal's Lovelajan. The new poster marks Meera Jasmine's return as a leading lady opposite Mohanlal after several years. She had previously made a special appearance alongside him in Hridayapoorvam (2025).

The film also has a strong technical crew, a lot of whom have worked with Mohanlal and Tharun on Thudarum. This includes Shaji Kumar, who handles the cinematography, music director Jakes Bejoy, and sound designer Vishnu Govind. The team also includes Binu Pappu as associate director, Vishnu Govind for sound design, Gokul Das as art director, and Mashar Hamsa handling costumes, with Ronex Xavier handling makeup.

A poster released earlier this year showed Mohanlal in a cop's uniform in a homely setting, with the film carrying the working title L366. 

Mohanlal was most recently seen in Drishyam 3, the third chapter of his blockbuster Drishyam franchise. Looking ahead, the actor is expected to make cameo appearances in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Khalifa: Part 1, the latter scheduled for August 20, 2026.

The actor is also part of Jude Anthany Joseph’s Thudakkam, which is set to release on Onam, and stars his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal, marking her debut in the industry.
