'Chhaava' Trailer: Vicky Kaushal's Maratha Roar Clashes With Akshaye Khanna's Aurangzeb In This Historical Epic
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna.
Actor Vicky Kaushal is out to hunt in the trailer of his upcoming historical action drama Chhaava. The makers of the film dropped their three-minute-long visual unit featuring Kaushal in the titular role as the Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Chhaava trailer opens with the events following the death of Sambhaji Maharaj's father, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and the threat of the Mughal Empire taking over the Marathas.
But that's not to be, as Kaushal—in a sensational turn with a beefed-up body, long beard, and Marathi accent—thunders that the Tiger may have died, but Chhaava is still roaming in the jungle.
"We will rip them apart if they even dare to plot against us," Kaushal says, before adding, "It is time to hunt."

The trailer then introduces the kingdom of Sambhaji Maharaj, as well as the queen, Maharani Yesubai, played by Rashmika Mandanna.
Intercut with shots of fight sequences and dance numbers (music by AR Rahman), the trailer then switches gears when actor Akshaye Khanna makes his entry as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
"I will wear the crown again when the cries of Sambhaji echo across India," Khanna's Aurangzeb declares as Chhaava trailer braces for an intense face-off between the two.
Chhaava is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Film and directed by Laxman Utekar, who had previously teamed up with Kaushal for the 2023 hit Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, Diana Penty, and Santosh Juvekar among others. With dialogues penned by Rishi Virmani—Irshad Kamil is credited with lyrics and additional dialogues—Chhaava will hit the big screens on February 14.
