Amazon Prime Video has officially announced two projects in collaboration with Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films at their 2026 slate launch in Mumbai. They released details about the key cast and crew, as well as a first look at the two projects: 

follows the story of five women with their own wounds, dreams, and deadly secrets when they are drawn into a web of deception that threatens to crush them or set them free when a sustainable housing project unravels into a deadly scam. The thriller series is being produced by Hrithik Roshan and Eshaan Roshan under their banner, HRX Films. It's created and directed by Ajitpal Singh who also co-wrote it with Francois Lunel and Swati Das. 

Prime Video introduced  Parvathy Thiruvothu, Alaya F, Srishti Shrivastava, Rrama Sharma, and Saba Azad in the first look of the series along with other key cast members Suvinder Pal Vicky, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajit Kapur,  Ashok Pathak, Gautam Rode, Priyanka Setia and Ranjan Raj. 

follows a motley group of robbers who slowly realise they’re the victims to a night-long standoff when they invade the family house of a man with OCD. The film is being produced by Hrithik Roshan, Eshaan Roshan under the banner of HRX Films (a division of Filmkraft Productions) in association with Rajesh A Krishnan’s Soda Films Lab. Krishnan will also be directing the film. The screenplay, originally written by Paul Soter, has been adapted by Kapil Sawant. 

Prime Video released a first look of the film with Pratik Gandhi playing the role of the man with OCD. Other key cast members will include Ranvir Shorey, Gajraj Rao and Anurag Thakur. 

The two projects mark an expanding creative collaboration between HRX Films and Amazon Prime Video.  Speaking of the same, Roshan said, “

The show is backed by Roy Kapur Films, Aatpat and SMR Productions, with Abhay Koranne and Manjule attached as creators and writers. The show is directed by Manjule, best known for his hard-hitting Marathi social dramas like 

also stars Sai Tamankar, Siddharth Jadhav, Bhupendra Jadavat and Gulshan Grover. "In this fictional tale set in 1960s Mumbai, an enterprising cotton trader who craves legitimacy and respect, starts a new gambling game dubbed ‘Matka’, that takes the city by storm and democratizes a terrain previously reserved for the rich and elite," read the logline of the series.

The show is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Manjule, Gargi Kulkarni, Ashish Aryan and Ashwini Sidwani. Varma had begun filming 

 in 2024, and the show was announced as part of Prime Video's slate last year.

This will be Manjule's first directorial since his 2022 feature 

which was headlined by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.  The sports film, based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, marked the filmmaker's Hindi debut. 

Meanwhile, Varma is gearing up for a packed 2026. While he already has 

he will also be seen in Hansal Mehta's Netflix series 

The show, starring Anil Kapoor, Akash Khurana, Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia and Anant Nag, among others, is co-created by Niren Bhatt.

On the film front, Varma was last seen in the theatrical 

(2025). Produced by Manish Malhotra, the film also starred Naseeruddin Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sharib Hashmi.

The series, produced by Roy Kapur Films and led by producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, is created by Abbas Tyrewala and directed by Priyanka Ghose. It brings together an ensemble cast that includes Sidhant Gupta, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pavail Gulati, Ronit Roy, Isha Talwar, Chandni Bainz, Faisal Malik and Bobby Deol.

According to details revealed in the first look, the narrative begins in the aftermath of the 1993 Bombay bombings, when a covert intelligence unit is formed with the sole task of protecting Mumbai from future threats. Operating outside public scrutiny, the agency monitors potential attacks and tracks networks connected to hostile organisations.

Years later, the system is compromised when classified information begins to leak to Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan’s intelligence agency. The breach raises the possibility that someone within the organisation itself is working as a mole.

At the centre of the story is a former field operative believed to have died seven years earlier after being accused of betrayal. Forced out of hiding, he returns to uncover the identity of the real traitor who framed him, even as the agency that once employed him now treats him as a threat that must be eliminated.

The series is written by Tyrewala alongside Arghya Lahiri and Omkar Modgi. It blends elements of political intrigue with action and surveillance drama, framing the search for the mole as both an intelligence operation and a personal reckoning.

Actor-filmmaker Konkona Sensharma is back with her latest directorial, 

series is headlined by actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Barun Sobti, playing half-siblings.

 was announced at a grand event on Thursday as part of Prime Video's slate. The show is backed by Dramsoc, with Sensharma and Jaydeep Sarkar serving as creators. Both have also directed the series.

"Kanishk and Kanupriya, ex-royals and half-siblings united by a crumbling inheritance, are forced to take over their family’s remote heritage hotel, The Khoya Mahal. Desperate to escape, they hatch a reckless plan to free themselves, unaware that Khoya Mahal has plans of its own," read the logline of the show.

The makers also dropped a minute-long teaser of the show, revealing its charming world. "Welcome to Khoya Mahal, peace and tranquility await you," greets Hydari as the video unit then gives a glimpse of its quirky characters.

Hussain Haidry, Sarkar, Sensharma and Genesia Alves. The show also stars veteran actor Aparna Sen—Sensharma's mother—Harish Khanna, Master Luca Adhikari and Dhruv Sehgal. The show is produced by Smriti Jain, Gaurav Mishra, Sensharma, and Sarkar.

Sensharma made her feature directorial debut with the 2017 drama-thriller 

featuring Vikrant Massey, Tillotama Shome, Om Puri, Tanuja, Gulshan Devaiah, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh and Ranvir Shorey. 

Her directorial follow-up was the 2023 Netflix anthology

On the work front, both Hydari and Sobti have had one release each this year. While Hydari starred in the theatrical 

co-starring Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swamy, Sobti was recently seen in Netflix's

Aditi Rao Hydari, Barun Sobti Lead Konkona Sensharma's Prime Video Directorial 'Welcome To Khoya Mahal'

Actor and producer Alia Bhatt has announced a new production venture, the coming-of-age romantic comedy 

, which will stream on Prime Video. The project will be produced by Bhatt alongside her sister Shaheen Bhatt under their banner Eternal Sunshine Productions.

Bhatt said the film will feature a cast drawn entirely from outside the film industry, introducing new performers rather than established actors. The decision, she suggested, aligns with the production company’s interest in backing fresh voices and stories rooted in contemporary experiences. She also added that she's planned a fitting launch for the cast of the project soon.

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film follows Shyamili “Shy” Das, a 20-year-old who believes she has her future mapped out with precision. Her carefully structured life begins to unravel when an unexpected turn of events disrupts her plans, forcing her to confront uncertainty in matters of friendship, love and identity.

Bhatt said the story resonated with the ethos behind Eternal Sunshine Productions, which she co-founded to support character-driven narratives. “At Eternal Sunshine, we’ve always wanted to back stories that feel honest and voices that feel their own,” she said in a statement announcing the project.

The film will be co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani and made in association with Chalkboard Entertainment. Dialogues and additional screenplay have been written by Sehaj Kaur Maini.

According to Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals for Prime Video India, the platform sees the project as a character-led romantic comedy aimed at younger audiences. He described the film as a story about growing up that blends humour with emotional realism.

The music for the film will be composed by Ram Sampath. Further details about the cast are expected to be announced at a later stage.

Bhatt, who has increasingly expanded her role as a producer in recent years, also has several acting projects lined up. She is set to appear in

has been scheduled for a theatrical release on 3 April 2026, coinciding with Good Friday. The film, often referred to as 

The release date was confirmed by the film’s makers on social media after months of uncertainty about its theatrical plans. The project had previously faced several postponements before settling on its new slot in early April.

Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film blends romantic comedy with speculative science fiction. The story is set in the year 2040 in a futuristic version of Chennai, where relationships are increasingly shaped by technology and dating apps that claim to measure compatibility and emotional outcomes.

Within that world, the narrative follows a young man who believes in traditional notions of love. His outlook places him at odds with a society where romance has become data driven and algorithmic. The story develops after he meets Dheema, a technologically adept woman whose approach to relationships reflects the logic of the digital systems that dominate the city.

Their relationship soon brings them into conflict with Suriyan, the chief executive of a powerful dating platform that treats love as a commodity governed by predictive technology. The plot unfolds as the protagonist attempts to defend his relationship against the influence of a corporate system built around quantifying human emotion.

Alongside Ranganathan and Shetty, the film features a supporting cast that includes SJ Suryah, Seeman, Yogi Babu, Gouri G Kishan and Shah Ra. The film’s music and background score are composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who also lends his voice to a robot character in the story.

The project was initially planned for release on 18 September 2025 before being shifted to October during the Diwali period. The track in question, originally released in Kannada as “Sarse Ninna Sarse”, was later dubbed into multiple languages. Its Hindi version, titled 

, drew backlash on social media over what some viewers described as explicit or inappropriate lyrics. The Hindi version was subsequently taken down following the criticism.

In a video posted to her social media accounts, Fatehi said the song had been filmed three years ago and that she had agreed to participate as part of a large-scale project featuring a prominent cast. The film stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role alongside actors including Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind and Reeshma Nanaiah.

Fatehi said she did not understand Kannada and relied on the film’s team to explain the meaning of the lyrics during filming. According to the actor, the translation provided to her at the time did not appear inappropriate. She also said she believed the song was linked to the popular track 

The controversy intensified after the Hindi version of the song appeared online. Fatehi said she had not approved the Hindi lyrics, the dubbing, or the release of promotional material associated with that version. She also criticised the use of an artificial intelligence generated image in the song’s promotion, saying it had been used without her consent.

According to the actor, she raised concerns about the Hindi version with the filmmakers and chose not to promote the track. Fatehi said she had warned the team that the lyrics could provoke a public backlash and that she wanted to distance herself from the release. The actor added that performers often have limited control over the final presentation of songs once production and marketing decisions move to the filmmaking team. She said the removal of the Hindi version following public criticism showed that audiences could influence such decisions.

'Karuppu': Suriya, RJ Balaji's Action Film Sets Summer Release Date 

After AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP and former minister 

CV Shanmugam's remark on actor Nayanthara came under fire, actor-politician Khushbu Sundar and Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu have criticised the statement and voiced their disappointment.

, in a recent protest, said, "Abdul Kalam asked us to dream. But this man [MK Stalin] has gone further and told us, ‘You dream, I will fulfil it’. I want Nayanthara — will he fulfil my dream? If I say, ‘Get Nayanthara married to me’, will he get it done?” The MP was reportedly referring to the DMK government’s ‘Ungal Kanavai Sollungal’ (Tell Us Your Dreams) scheme, which calls upon citizens to share their ambitions.

"Pls single out one such degrading statement from a woman / female actor about a man?? Gender equality and respect is a two way traffic. The day a woman speaks about a man, all hell will break loose," wrote Khushbu on X.

Manchu added that actresses cannot be punching bags. "Reading about the political campaigns in my Tamil Nadu. Felt It’s in extremely poor taste to drag actresses into political narratives. Not just in TN but anywhere. Actors are not political punching bags. They are individuals with families, dignity, and a life beyond the screen. Public discourse cannot come at the cost of basic respect, especially towards women. Indian culture, at its core, places women as Shakti, to be respected, not reduced to headlines or insults. Let’s do better," the actor wrote on X.

Meanwhile, the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIAA) has reportedly condemned the remark. According to 

, in a statement addressed to the MP, the association remarked that the speech garnered a lot of backlash among the film fraternity. Nayanthara was last seen alongside Chiranjeevi in the Telugu film 

AIADMK MP's Remarks On Nayanthara Criticised by Khushbu, Vishnu Manchu 

, set to hit the big screens on Thursday, March 19, has been running strong at the box office, topping advanced bookings. With paid previews scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, the film has already grossed around ₹38 crore, as per industry tracker 

. For Day 1, its domestic sales have crossed ₹24.50 crore, selling over 6.25 lakh tickets across the country.

The film’s overseas business has been pulling in great numbers too with pre-sales for the opening weekend expected to amass ₹60 crore. Combining the domestic and overseas advance booking collections, the film’s opening weekend pre-sales figure stands at ₹124 crore with block seats.

As per reports, the film which was initially certified with an ‘A’ certificate by the CBFC went through 21 modifications after going through the Examining Committee (EC). Abusive words have been muted and replaced, though CBFC didn’t provide details. Along with that, violent visuals, including reducing the visual of a hammer hitting a head, a cement block hitting a head and an eye getting smashed by a few seconds each. Further, visuals of beheading and kicking were shortened by 24 seconds. The EC also asked to make corrections about a historical event in the subtitles and the name of a city. The makers were also asked to add a disclaimer on drugs and another one addressing the violence that read, “This film includes disturbing content, and viewer discretion is strongly recommended.”

The sequel will also have chapters like the first part, titles of which makers were asked to write in Hindi. Animal Welfare Board certificate was submitted for any scenes with animals and an official permission letter for the was submitted for parts where it makes references to the Prime Minister and uses news footage. All the cuts and modifications come down to over 94 seconds which makes the film’s runtime 229 minutes. The first part was over 214 minutes long.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who has been public in his appreciation of the first part, appears to have all good things to say about the sequel, appearing to have watched it pre-release.

The director thinks the release marks the ‘birth of a new cinematic order' and a takedown of everything that existed before the release of this film. Speaking of the director he said, “The very spelling of the word DIRECTOR will start from @adityadharfilms name , and it will be prudent and wise for even STEVEN SPIELBERG and CHRISTOPHER NOLAN to drop everything they are doing,

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Set to Release Tomorrow with ‘A’ Certificate After Cutting 94 Seconds

In attendance at the event were actors Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun, composer

Ranveer Singh who rushed the stage with his unmatched energy was visibly excited and emotional on the evening before the release of what is being touted as Indian cinema's biggest film, ever. "We're so humbled and grateful for the response to the first part of the film. The excitement and anticipation for the second part is unprecedented," Singh said. Speaking about the composer of the album he said, "Shashwat Sachdev is just getting started. He has poured his soul into this album and mark my words he will go down in history as one our best artists." Before going off stage he took a moment to himself and thanked the audience for being there. He said, "I'm too happy to be here. It's a big evening for me. Sara Arjun and Shashwat Sachdev also took time to thank the audience for all their love before the night escalated into a forty-minute concert with each of the singers coming on stage to perform their songs from the film.  and producer Chirag Nihalani have announced the launch of their new venture, production banner Drongo Films. Kemmu and Nihalani said they plan to back projects that are entertaining, engaging and rooted in strong storytelling. 

"We’ve started Drongo Films with the intention of telling stories that come straight from the heart — crafted with care, imagination and visual integrity," said Kemmu, who has worked across genres during a three-decade career as an actor, starring in several widely loved films.

Nihalani, whose film and television career spans more than two decades, said the vision for Drongo Films is to produce projects that “strike a balance between creativity and commerce.”

"We want to stay deeply committed to the craft while bringing efficiency and clarity to execution. Our aim is to tell stories that feel authentic and entertaining, but more importantly, stories that stay with the audience long after they’ve watched the film,” Nihalani said.

The banner’s name, Kemmu explained, draws inspiration from the drongo bird, a fearless forest creature known for its remarkable ability to mimic the calls of other birds.

"As actors and filmmakers, we do something similar — we observe life, echo its many voices and transform them into stories on screen. Drongo Films represents our attempt to do that honestly, while also taking a step toward creative independence," he added.

Kemmu began his career as a child actor in the late 1980s with a Doordarshan television series and made his film debut with Mahesh Bhatt’s 

 in 1993. He went on to make his debut as a leading man with Mohit Suri’s 2005 romantic drama 

He has since starred in several films, including the 

, and made his directorial debut with the hit comedy
