'Drishyam 3' Box-Office: Mohanlal Scores His Fifth ₹100 Crore Grosser as the Thriller Records ₹141 Crore Opening Weekend

Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 3 recorded an excellent extended opening weekend at the global box office, comfortably cruising toward trade projections of a ₹140 crore four-day haul. Headlined by Mohanlal, the highly anticipated final installment of the landmark thriller franchise posted massive numbers over the weekend, overriding mixed audience word-of-mouth that threatened to slightly dampen its momentum.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹141 crore worldwide, maintaining consistent numbers over its four-day extended opening weekend.

In terms of domestic performance, Drishyam 3 opened on Thursday with an India nett of nearly ₹16 crore, followed by ₹11 crore on Friday. Over Saturday and Sunday, the thriller remained stable, netting approximately ₹14 crore on each day.

This steady weekend surge brings the film's total domestic net collections to nearly ₹55 crore, according to Sacnilk.

Overseas, the film continued to post strong numbers, drawing in a Sunday gross of ₹13 crore to push its international total to a whopping ₹78 crore global gross.

With this performance, Drishyam 3 officially becomes Mohanlal's fifth film to enter the coveted ₹100 crore club, joining the elite ranks of his previous blockbusters like Pulimurugan, Lucifer, Thudarum, and L2: Empuraan.

Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the film marks the conclusion of a story that has spanned over a decade. The film also stars Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil.

Released in 2013, Drishyam became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of its time and was widely remade across Indian languages, as well as internationally.

Its sequel debuted on streaming during the COVID-19 lockdown and achieved similar reach. Together, the films established a reputation for tightly constructed narratives and unexpected twists, which set high expectations for the final instalment.

The film also has a Hindi remake up for a grand theatrical release later this year. Drishyam 3 in Hindi is headlined by Ajay Devgn and also stars Tabu.
