Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam saga is officially heading towards its final chapter. The makers of Drishyam 3 have confirmed that the much anticipated thriller will release in cinemas on October 2, 2026, a date that holds much significance for fans of the franchise.

The announcement was made with a promo shared on social media, carrying the line, ‘Aakhri hissa baaki hai [The final chapter remains]’.

Ajay Devgn once again steps into the role of Vijay Salgaonkar, the unassuming cable operator whose razor-sharp mind has made him one of Hindi cinema’s most compelling thriller protagonists. Over two films, Vijay’s battle to protect his family has evolved into a tense psychological chess match, particularly against Tabu’s formidable IG Meera Deshmukh.

The announcement video offers a glimpse into Vijay’s mindset as he reflects on truth, morality, and the one principle he refuses to compromise on — his family. Interspersed with moments from the earlier films and flashes of new footage, the promo hints at deeper emotional stakes and a heightened narrative intensity.

Production on Drishyam 3 is currently underway across multiple cities, with the makers confirming that the film is being mounted on a larger scale than its predecessors. Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Kamlesh Sawant, and Rajat Kapoor return alongside Devgn, reprising roles that have become integral to the franchise’s tightly woven world.

Abhishek Pathak (Drishyam 2) returns to direct the film and has also co-written the script with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. The project is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, and presented by Star Studios and Panorama Studios.

With both Drishyam and Drishyam 2 enjoying strong critical and commercial success, expectations are understandably high. As the clock ticks towards October 2026, audiences can expect one final game of wits, and the closing chapter of Vijay Salgaonkar’s carefully constructed truth.
