Sai Abhyankkar, the young singer-composer gaining prominence for his work in the South Indian regional music landscape, is reportedly in talks to work on a major Bollywood project.

Known for his recent work in the Keerthiswaran directorial Dude, Abhyankkar is now looking to expand his creativity beyond Tamil cinema. Like many young artists in the country, he views Bollywood as a significant step in his career progression.

"We are in talks for a big film. I am really looking forward to it," he told The Hollywood Reporter India.

During the conversation, Abhyankkar shared that working in Bollywood has always been an aspiration of his. "It is definitely very attractive, and it is something that I've been looking forward (to) since Dude," he said. While details of the project remain fairly unknown, he expressed excitement about the opportunity, adding that he approaches every language he works in with the same level of passion.

Among his recent releases is the single Pavazha Malli, as well as Raathu Raasan from the upcoming Suriya film Karuppu, the latter of which he revealed was completed just hours before its release. He has also worked on Make Way for The King, a track set to feature in Atlee’s upcoming epic Raaka.

Speaking about his creative process, Abhyankkar emphasised the importance of discipline, noting that he often counters creative blocks by dedicating time to practice rather than letting the day go to waste. He recalled how his training under the legendary composer A.R. Rahman has helped him build patience. Reflecting on this experience, he shared that Rahman advised him to “keep his brain and mental health safe," a lesson that has stayed with him.

Sai Abhyankkar gained fame from his first hit single, Katchi Sera, which marked his debut as a solo artist. Since then, he has steadily established himself while carrying forward the musical legacy of his parents, Tippu and Harini, a prominent South Indian playback singing couple, known for their extensive work across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema.
