Nani is not taking a break after his latest release, the period-action film The Paradise (2026). In an upcoming interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the Telugu star said he is heading straight into preparations for his next film, Sujeeth's Bloody Romeo.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise released in September to polarising reviews, but delivered the biggest opening of Nani's career and crossed ₹100 crore in India. When asked if he needed space between such heavy experiences, Nani said work was the only way to get back into the flow of things.
"If I relax or take a break, I'll just be thinking about Paradise. Jumping into my next project introduces me to a new world and a new character to think about,” he said.
Bloody Romeo was announced on Nani's birthday in February with a title video that introduced him as a chef and gangster. The film is directed by Sujeeth, known for Saaho (2019) and They Call Him OG (2025). While Nani declined to share details about his role, he said the film would be a contrast to The Paradise (2026). Bloody Romeo also has violence, he said, but not in the raw manner of his latest release.
"It's a very theatrical, stylish experience. Sujeeth came up with a twist to that which makes it extremely witty combined with action," Nani said. “After Paradise, it’s going to be a refreshing watch.”
After Bloody Romeo, Nani will move on to a love story, which he described as "a very subtle, sweet movie" meant for audiences of all ages, from children to adults.
Details about the film's title and director are yet to be revealed. "Children are always the first to run up to me at functions or public appearances," he shared. "I'm happy that I'm working on a film that even they can watch."
Nani, who runs the production house Wall Poster Cinema, also spoke about a film he is producing, titled Aliya Srutani. The banner has previously backed the HIT franchise and Court: State vs A Nobody (2025). Like his next acting project, the film is a love story, and an announcement video has already been released. "It's coming out really well. I've seen a few rushes and I'm so happy," Nani said.
Release dates for Bloody Romeo, Nani's upcoming love story and Aliya Srutani are yet to be announced.
