The makers shared a brief on-set video featuring Faasil interacting with the crew. The film stars Atharvaa Murali in the lead role, alongside Preity Mukhundhan and Kayadu Lohar.

Idhayam Murali is described as a romantic drama centred on the theme of one-sided love. At the film’s title launch event in Chennai, Atharvaa said the story is dedicated to those who have experienced unreciprocated love. He told students at the event that the emotions associated with one-sided love — including joy, disappointment and longing — form the emotional core of the film.

The title references the 1991 Tamil film Idhayam, which starred Atharvaa’s late father, Murali. Atharvaa clarified at the launch that the name reflects the film’s theme rather than serving solely as a tribute. He said the character he plays embodies the idea of “Idhayam Murali” as a symbol of one-sided love.

The teaser introduces Atharvaa’s character living in the United States and following developments in a friend’s relationship, before being urged by family members to return to India for a wedding. The sequence establishes the film’s romantic tone and cross-border setting.

Cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, with editing by Pradeep E Ragav. Senthilkumar Kesavan serves as co-director, while dialogues are written by Ramanagirivasan, Aakash Baskaran and Dravid Selvam.

Idhayam Murali is scheduled for a wide theatrical release this summer.
