The speculation gathered momentum after an interview featuring Telugu screenwriter-producer Kona Venkat began circulating widely on X.
Is superstar Hrithik Roshan collaborating with Telugu filmmaker Bobby? That was the speculation that gained traction online, with chatter around a possible teaming up between Roshan and the helmer, who delivered the 2025 hit Daaku Maharaaj.
While the possibility of such a collaboration sparked interest across social media, THR India has learnt that there are currently no active discussions with the actor.
The speculation gathered momentum after an interview featuring Telugu screenwriter-producer Kona Venkat began circulating widely on X. In the clip, Venkat mentioned that his team had met Roshan for a narration, adding that the superstar had responded positively to the idea for a tentative new film that Bobby was expected to direct.
The remarks quickly fuelled chatter online that Roshan might be collaborating with Bobby on an untitled pan-India project backed by Mythri Movie Makers.
Industry sources, however, say that while a meeting between the teams did take place some time ago, the conversation did not progress further. “There was a meeting a while back and it was a positive interaction, but nothing materialised beyond that, which is quite common in the industry. At the moment, there is no project being discussed with Hrithik,” a source told THR India.
Roshan is already set to headline a large-scale pan-India film with Hombale Films, led by founder Vijay Kiragandur. As previously announced by the actor and the studio, the project aims to mount a cinematic spectacle where “intensity meets imagination on a grand scale.”
In an earlier statement, Roshan had said he was looking forward to partnering with the banner and delivering a “cinematic experience for our audience,” adding that the team was “dreaming big and committed to bringing the vision to life.” The production house is known for backing major pan-India hits such as the KGF series, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, and Kantara.
Roshan is also expanding his slate on streaming. Through his banner HRX Films, he has partnered with Amazon Prime Video for the original thriller drama series Storm. Created and directed by Ajitpal Singh, the show explores secrets, ambition and survival in the heart of Mumbai and features an ensemble cast that includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Alaya F, Srishti Shrivastava, Rrama Sharma and Saba Azad.
