The Krrish franchise is officially returning, and this time, Hrithik Roshan is turning director. The highly-anticipated fourth instalment of the superhero series will mark his directorial debut, taking over from his father, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who helmed the previous films.
Produced by Rakesh Roshan and Aditya Chopra, Krrish 4 is set to be one of the most ambitious films in the franchise. Announcing the news, Rakesh Roshan shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, reflecting on launching Hrithik as an actor 25 years ago and now witnessing his transition to directing.
"Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Aditya Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4," he wrote. "Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings!"
The announcement has ignited a wave of excitement among fans, who have been eagerly awaiting a sequel since Krrish 3 released in 2013.
While Hrithik has been the face of the franchise since its inception, it remains unclear whether he will reprise his role as Krrish or introduce a new protagonist.
