Sun Pictures released the trailer of Jailer 2 on Monday, an ensemble film led by Rajinikanth, and viewers have since been trying to identify a mystery woman seen in the footage. On Tuesday, actor Apeksha Porwal addressed the speculation on social media, writing, "Since it's everywhere anyway.. Did you catch your girl in the trailer of Jailer 2 yet?"
In the trailer, Porwal is seen holding a gun and performing several stunt sequences. Her post served as a casual acknowledgment of the attention the trailer was drawing online. Porwal won the Miss India title in 2015 and was among the runners-up at Miss Diva in 2017. The actor-model is also trained in kickboxing and nunchaku.
Porwal had announced her involvement in Jailer 2 in November 2025 through a thank-you note online, but the trailer is the first time audiences have seen her in the film, which marks her Tamil debut. Earlier screen work includes the web series Undekhi, the MBC Shahid title Slave Market and the JioHotstar series Honeymoon Photographer.
Directed by Nelson, Jailer 2 brings back several members of the 2023 original's cast: Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Shivarajkumar, Mirnaa, Jaffer Sadiq, Mohanlal and Vinayakan.
Newer additions include SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim and Jatin Sarna, along with Porwal.
Nora Fatehi has a special song in the film, while Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi are also reported to have cameos in the sequel.
The technical team comprises music director Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan, editor R Nirmal, art director DRK Kiran, costume designers Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez, and stunt director Chethan D'Souza.
Jailer 2 has been in production for over a year and its release coincides with the Dussehra holidays, a strategic move intended to give the sequel a grand opening across both domestic and international markets. Jailer 2 is now slated for release on October 15.
