The posters of the film revealed Karthi in the attire of a police officer and the songs from the film have gone on to become popular. The music is by Santosh Narayanan. The film’s first single ‘Uyir Pathikaama’ was released over six months ago. Other stars of the film include Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Anand Raj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran and more.

Meanwhile, Karthi’s next release is expected to be Sardar 2. He has also began shooting for Marshal. Although Kaithi 2 was expected to be the film Lokesh Kanagaraj started working on right after Coolie, recent reports have suggested that he might not only be returning to the LCU franchise later.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Lokesh Kanagaraj had earlier spoken about plans for his future films after the release of Coolie. “So there is Kaithi 2 with Karthi and Vikram 2 with Kamal sir, both of which I have committed to. I really want to make Master 2 and Leo 2 with Vijay anna as well, but I don’t know about his availability and if he’ll come back to films or not (after he enters politics). I also have the Rolex film with Suriya, which we have discussed a lot. All these projects are in the pipeline, but will depend on the actors’ shooting schedules and mine,” Lokesh said.

On the production front, Lokesh will oversee Benz (which is part of the LCU) and Mr Bhaarath as well, under his banner of G Squad. “There are plenty of other films as well that are under discussion. But what I’m super excited about is a collaboration between Karthik Subbaraj and me for a film directed by Rathna Kumar.”
