The two-minute thirty-four-second trailer of Khalifa Part One was released late Sunday, promising a wild origins story of a man named Aamir Ali and the workings of his grand intercontinental gold-smuggling network. At the start of the trailer, Ali is described as the very reason an international law was enforced in India. It also features several shots of gold, jewellery, watches, guns and even coffee jars as a part of this smuggling network. The trailer begins with action sequences and chases set in Dubai, until it comes back to India to show the early days of Ali's rise. We also see glimpses of antagonists, including Shammi Thilakan and Neil Nithin Mukesh, with the latter even speaking his lines in Malayalam.

The trailer ends with a quick high-profile glimpse of a character's hand. From the way the trailer has been cut, it becomes obvious that it is the entry of Mohanlal, rumoured to be playing Ali’s father in the film.
