Kamal Haasan and Aamir Khan have officially paused all promotional activities of their films.

Days after the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, the military attack on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian producers are pausing all promotional activities lined up for their films.

Leading this move has been actor-producer Aamir Khan, who, according to well-placed sources, had decided to drop the idea of launching the trailer of his upcoming Sitaare Zameen Par immediately after Operation Sindoor on May 7.

The actor is said to have rescheduled the trailer launch of the slice-of-life comedy film, which is gearing up for a June 20 theatrical release. "The three-minute-long trailer was ready, but the current situation of the country demanded that the team put a pause on the activity. A new date will be figured out later," a source told THR India.

According to an insider, promotions of several films, including Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5, will likely hit pause considering the geopolitical tensions and nationwide alert.

"It is an extremely sensitive time, and all promotional activities of every major film coming out are likely to be stopped. The makers are now closely examining how the situation is unfolding and then take a call on how to proceed. It is an unpredictable situation, so those who can wait are already pausing," an insider shared.

"In view of the developments at our nation’s border and the current state of heightened alert, we have decided to reschedule the audio launch of Thug Life. As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration. A new date will be announced at a later, more appropriate time," the statement read.

Makers of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf had already moved their film from its original theatrical outing on May 9 to a streaming release on Amazon Prime Video on May 16.
