Parvathy Thiruvothu to star in cop thriller 'Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar'

Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu will play a police officer for the first time in Malayalam cinema in director Shahad’s upcoming thriller, Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar. The actor announced the project on Thursday by sharing the title poster on Instagram. Her caption read: “When the eyes deceive, who decides who the criminal is? Here’s the first look of Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar – a tale where perception itself can convict.”

The Malayalam-language film is expected to begin production in December. Directed by Shahad (Prakashan Parakkatte, Anuragam), the film will be set against the backdrop of a police station. The script is co-written by P.S. Subramaniam and Vijesh Thottingal.

Filming will take place in Kottayam and Ernakulam. Parvathy is joined in the cast by veteran actor Vijayaraghavan along with Mathew Thomas, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya Prasad, and Azeez Nedumangad.

The technical team comprises Appu Prabhakar (Rekhachithram) as cinematographer, Chaman Chakko (Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra) as editor and Mujeeb Majeed as composer, while the action choreography is handled by Kalai Kingson (Marco).

The film is produced by Arjun Selva under the banner of 11 Icons Film Productions.

Parvathy, known for her acclaimed roles in Take Off, Bangalore Days, Qarib Qarib Singlle, and Ullozhukku, was last seen in the anthology film Her. She had earlier portrayed a law enforcement officer in the Telugu web series Dhootha, co-starring Naga Chaitanya.

Parvathy is also a part of Nobody, directed by Nissam Basheer and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The actors had last collaborated on Ennu Ninte Moideen. According to prior reports, Nobody also features Ashokan, Madhupal, Hakkim Shajahan, Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi and Vinay Forrt. The film went on floors in April this year.
