'Patriot': Mammootty To Return To Sets On October 1
The actor will be joining the sets of the Mahesh Narayanan film soon in Hyderabad
As reported earlier, Mammootty will return to filming after a brief hiatus during which he addressed health concerns. The actor will resume filming for Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. His co-stars in the films are Mohanlal, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil. The news of his return to sets was suggested by producer and close friend Anto Joseph. “Our dear Mammookka is making a grand return," he announced, confirming that Mammootty will join sets from October 1.
Mammootty was working on Patriot with Mohanlal when news about his ill health emerged. Mohanlal had recently said that he was awaiting the actor's return to the sets. "We are looking forward to his return, and I’m so happy that he returns to set with a film I too am working on (Patriot)," said Mohanlal in a social media post, along with a picture of him kissing his senior on the cheeks on the news of his recovery.
On Megastar Mammootty’s birthday on September 8, the team behind the latest Malayalam blockbuster Lokah: Chapter One - Chandra released a special poster from the film showing just the drawing of a man emerging out of the shadows. The caption read, “Happy Birthday Moothon, You Have Our Eternal Love: Team Lokah”. This reiterated that the actor would play the film series’s most intriguing character in future films of the Lokah universe.
The actor had taken a break from acting for around five months. Actors from the Malayalam film industry recently expressed joy at Mammootty’s recovery. Manju Warrier, who posted a picture, wrote, "Welcome Back Tiger.” Actor Sreeraman, who had previously hinted that the megastar had cleared a major health test, without revealing specific details, said he had been speaking to Mammootty regularly during this period.
Mammootty was last seen in Dominic and the Ladies' Purse and Bazooka.
