Actress Raashii Khanna has joined the team of Pawan Kalyan's upcoming Telugu film Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Mythri Movie Makers, the production house, announced the news on X. "Team #UstaadBhagatSingh welcomes the angelic #RaashiiKhanna on board as 'Shloka' She brings her grace and charm to the sets. Shoot underway," the post read, along with a poster of the actress.
Directed by Harish Shankar, the film also co-stars Sreeleela, who was last seen in Junior (2025). It was announced in early June that the Telugu superstar had begun filming for the production in Hyderabad. The project is produced by Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni under Mythri Movie Makers. Behind the scenes, the film boasts cinematographer Ayananka Bose, music by Devi Sri Prasad, art direction by Anand Sai, editing by Chota K Prasad, and stunt choreography by Ram-Lakshman.
The film has been in the making for quite some time. Dispelling rumours of the project being shelved, the producers clarified its release status. According to a recent report, the producer of the film dispelled these rumours in a press meet. "Harish Shankar garu has locked the script. It’s extraordinary. We are waiting for Kalyan garu to give us dates for it. We will wrap it up this year and release it next year at any cost," he reportedly said.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh was initially announced to be a remake of Atlee and Vijay's Tamil cop actioner Theri. The 2016 film followed the life of Joseph Kuruvilla, a bakery owner with a young daughter, who is forced to revisit his tough past. But according to reports, the writer-director has now revived the script, and the film will not be a remake.
Meanwhile, fans of Pawan Kalyan are currently looking forward to his July 24 release, Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and AM Jyothi Krishna and co-starring Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal.
