'Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders' Teaser: Nawazuddin Siddiqui Returns To Investigate a Massacre

Ahead of its Netflix debut, 'Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders' will have its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

The night is dark, and there is a new twisted murder case. Netflix on Thursday dropped the teaser of its much-awaited crime thriller Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, which will release on December 19.

Directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, the film returns to the universe first introduced in Raat Akeli Hai, bringing back Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Inspector Jatil Yadav, the sharp, uncompromising investigator now facing one of his darkest and most complex cases yet.

Produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures, the film also stars Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh, Deepti Naval, Rajat Kapoor, Revathy, Ila Arun, Sanjay Kapoor, and Akhilendra Mishra.

Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders is set in Kanpur and follows the affluent and well-known Bansal family, which is found brutally murdered in their mansion. Ahead of the global release on the streamer, the film will have its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Thursday.

Siddiqui said returning as Jatil Yadav felt like "revisiting a part of myself that never left" and added that the takes his character to "places he’s never been, emotionally and morally." The actor added, "To see it premiere at IFFI before it reaches audiences worldwide on Netflix is truly special."

Trehan, reflecting on the sequel, said, “With Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, we’ve gone deeper into the world we built with Raat Akeli Hai.
