Ranveer Singh-Jai Mehta's Zombie Thriller 'Pralay' To Be Mounted on a Budget of ₹300 Crore: Reports
Set to go on floors in May, 'Pralay' reportedly also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Even as he awaits the release of his mega theatrical outing, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, things are heating up for Ranveer Singh on his ambitious next, Pralay. Billed as a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller, the forthcoming feature will mark the debut of Singh's production house, Maa Kasam Films.
According to reports, the pre-production on the film has begun in full swing as Pralay is expected to have large-scale action pieces with high-octane emotions. A Pinkvilla report cited a source who claimed that the film is being mounted on a budget of approximately ₹300 crore.
Although its overall budget is lower than what was widely reported for Dhurandhar, that project was split into two parts, with its costs distributed accordingly. As a result, Pralay stands as Singh’s most expensive single-film venture to date.
"Ranveer has entered into a backend profit-sharing deal and is involved in every stage, from script development to VFX planning. This is also the maiden venture under his production banner, Maa Kasam Films, making it even more special for him," the publication quoted a source.
The film is also expected to mark the Bollywood debut of Kalyani Priyadarshan, who rose to nationwide prominence with the blockbuster Malayalam superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra (2025). Set to go on floors in May, Pralay chronicles a married couple fighting for survival in a dystopian Mumbai.
The film will mark the feature directorial debut of Mehta, who previously co-directed the series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta and also directed the seabound thriller Lootere.
Singh will be next seen on the big screen in Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, gearing up for a global release on March 19. The film will have a box-office with Yash's Toxic, which also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria, among others. The film marks the return of Yash after the blockbuster KGF franchise.
