Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’: Shooting Stalled After 120 Crew Members Hospitalised in Leh

The shooting of Ranveer Singh’s action thriller Dhurandhar has been stalled in Leh, Ladakh after 120 crew members were hospitalised due to food poisoning. According to a report in news agency ANI, the incident took place on Sunday, August 17. The crew members were rushed to SNM Hospital in Leh district. No casualties have been reported so far.

While most of the patients were treated by a team of doctors, and have since been discharged, five of them continue to remain under observation. The health scare reportedly took place on the film’s sets.

A medical official was quoted as saying, “This happened on the film's sets. They apparently had the food arranged on the sets and developed diarrhoea and vomiting. Food samples have been sent for examination, and the final reports are pending.”

Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is a period action thriller rooted in real events. The film stars Ranveer Singh in an intense spy avatar, leading a covert operation on enemy soil. He is joined in the cast by Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal. In the film, Madhavan plays the role of India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The makers had earlier debuted an action-packed teaser, revealing the film’s primary cast and setting. A significant portion of the film has been shot in Thailand, which stands in for Pakistan.

Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is written and produced by Aditya Dhar, along with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. The film is slated for release in theatres on December 5, 2025. Aditya is known for his directorial debut Uri: The Surgical Strike, starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam Dhar.

Dhurandhar is positioned as a major comeback for Ranveer Singh, who was last seen in the ensemble actioner Singhan Again (2024), and, before that, in Karan Johar’s romantic comedy-drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023).
