Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going international with his next, Love & War, as he plans to shoot a massive climax sequence of the upcoming romantic drama in Sicily, Italy. The film's lead cast, comprising Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, will unite for a massive schedule planned for the second half of October.
Around 125 days of the Love & War shoot are already complete, and a big schedule is presently underway on a mammoth set in Mumbai. Once it is wrapped up, the team will head to Italy.
"SLB loves to shoot larger-than-life dramatic moments, and the climax of Love & War will be drama at its peak with romance in the backdrop. He plans to shoot a prolonged climax sequence across Sicily, exploring the diverse landscape of the city. Through the schedule, he will also shoot for a song with the three characters. He will be stationed abroad for almost a month," a source shared.
After the climax is filmed, Bhansali and the team will look to call it a wrap by early January. According to reports, the team is working on the edit simultaneously to ready the film for a March 2026 outing.
Last year, during a chat with THR Talks, Bhansali had debunked industry buzz that Love & War is a modern-day adaptation of Raj Kapoor’s iconic film Sangam (1964).
"I love Sangam. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) is also like Sangam, where I tried to make Aishwarya Rai [Bachchan] into Vyjayanthimala, who’s the most beautiful woman on the Indian screen, according to me... I wish I had met him [Raj Kapoor] for five minutes. But [considering] all my love for Raj Kapoor, you never remake a great director’s classic," he had said.
