Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav to Star in Bejoy Nambiar's 'Tu Yaa Main'
BAFTA nominee Adarsh Gourav teams up with debutante Shanaya Kapoor in a thriller that turns romance into a test of survival.
The White Tiger actor and BAFTA nominee Adarsh Gourav is set to star alongside debutant actor Shanaya Kapoor in an all-new Colour Yellow Productions film, Tu Yaa Main. A high-intensity thriller that merges romance and survival, the film is billed as the “ultimate date fright experience.”
This project is the first collaboration between producer Aanand L. Rai and director Bejoy Nambiar, who is best known for the cult-thriller Shaitan. Set against the eerie backdrop of misty backwaters, the film explores intimacy and tension, crafting a narrative that refuses to conform to conventional genre norms.
Scripted by Abhishek Bandekar and produced by Himanshu Sharma (Haseen Dillruba franchise), Tu Yaa Main draws much of its emotional weight from the stark contrast between its lead characters’ socio-economic realities, a dynamic that fuels both their connection and conflicts.
“With Tu Yaa Main, we’re pushing the boundaries of romance and survival in a way that’s both emotionally charged and intensely terrifying,” Nambiar said in a statement. “Adarsh and Shanaya’s chemistry and their contrasting energies are what will make Tu Yaa Main a wild ride. It’s a unique canvas that allows us to explore complex characters against the backdrop of an unforgiving wilderness.”

Rai, whose production house has delivered critically lauded titles such as Tumbbad and Newton, emphasised the film’s unpredictability in the interview. “At Colour Yellow, we are constantly pushing the envelope when it comes to storytelling," he explained.
He continued, “Tu Yaa Main is a film that thrives on unpredictability, pairing two incredibly exciting artists in a story that refuses to play by the rules. We wanted actors who could not only embody their characters’ emotional complexity but also bring a natural intensity to their performances.”
Slated for a theatrical release on Valentine’s Day 2026, Tu Yaa Main aims to subvert the traditional romance trope by adding a touch of primal fear.
Colour Yellow is currently working on Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein, set to arrive in November while Gourav’s Superboys of Malegaon is currently in theatres.
