'SSMB29': Mahesh Babu Film To Be Released In 120 Countries; SS Rajamouli Meets Kenyan Minister
With this scale of release, the film is expected to break the worldwide release of SRK’s 'Pathan'
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli's SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, is all set to have the widest ever release for an Indian film. Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 film, Pathan, holds the current record for its release in 100 countries. The Rajamouli film is expected to release in 120 countries next year. The film was extensively shot in Kenya, where the makers recently wrapped up their schedule.
Recently, a minister from Kenya had posted on X about meeting Rajamouli and the crew. He wrote, “Kenya this past fortnight became the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, @ssrajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents," his post read.
The minister went on to detail the Kenyan regions the film expansively covered. "From the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara to the scenic Naivasha, the rugged Samburu, and the iconic Amboseli, Kenya’s landscapes are now etched into what is set to become the largest film production in Asia. Scheduled for release in over 120 countries, the movie is expected to reach more than a billion viewers worldwide...As the crew departs today for India to continue production, Kenya stands proud, ready to share its story with the world through the lens of SSMB29."
The first look of Mahesh Babu's tentatively titled 'Globe Trotter' will be revealed in November. On August 9, director SS Rajamouli revealed a glimpse of Mahesh Babu’s look, along with an announcement that the "first reveal" from the film will be out in November. Sharing the poster on Instagram, Mahesh Babu wrote, “Thank you for all the love I am eagerly awaiting, as you all are, for November 2025 to enjoy the reveal with all of you.” The hashtag "#Globetrotter” was featured on the poster, although it has not been confirmed if that is the title of the film.
