Powerhouse production banner Hombale Films has announced yet another high-profile collaboration, this time with Tamil superstar Suriya. The production house, known for backing blockbusters like KGF, Kantara, and Salaar, dropped an announcement on June 29 on X, hinting at “the next chapter #SuriyaxHombale” with the message: “Now, the most fearless actor of his generation steps onto his grandest stage yet.” The upcoming film will bring together Suriya, actress Kayadu Lohar, and celebrated filmmaker T. J. Gnanavel.
"He built it. Frame by frame. Film by film. Fight by fight. Roles that bled truth. Characters that carried the weight of real lives. A journey defined by courage, conviction, and craft. Three decades of truth on screen. Countless hearts touched beyond it," their post read.
The Suriya-Gnanavel duo previously delivered the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim in 2021, a hard-hitting courtroom drama that addressed caste discrimination and police brutality. The film will feature a solid technical team with music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by S. R. Kathir, production design by K. Kathir, and editing by Philomin Raj.
Suriya was last seen in the devotional action drama Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The Tamil film also co-starred Trisha and RJ Balaji.
“At Hombale Films, we have always believed that powerful cinema is born when passionate people come together with a shared vision. Collaborating with Suriya and T. J. Gnanavel is a step towards telling a story that is honest, meaningful, and will connect with audiences across the world," Kiragandur said in a press note.
The banner had earlier officially confirmed an ambitious pan-India project starring Hrithik Roshan, describing the project as “A tale of grit, grandeur and glory is set to unfold, where intensity meets imagination, the Big Bang begins.”
In an earlier exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, spoke about the banner's drive to take our films to the world stage. “Entertainment will persist forever,” he said, speaking about the growing potential in entertaining a country with a population of 140 crore people. “When everyone is getting attracted to western stories, we want to tell our story.” And how does one do that? By always going and betting big, according to Kiragandur.
