On the production front, Lokesh will oversee Benz (which is part of the LCU) and Mr Bhaarath as well, under his banner of G Squad, and reveals something of a surprise. “There are plenty of other films as well that are under discussion. Sikhya Entertainment, the Oscar-winning Indian production house behind The Elephant Whisperers, recently announced its first collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj. The yet-to-be-titled feature began filming recently in Madurai after a traditional pooja ceremony. The project marks a significant crossover between two of Indian cinema’s most distinctive voices — Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain’s Sikhya Entertainment, known for championing rooted, globally resonant storytelling, and Subbaraj, one of Tamil cinema’s most inventive contemporary directors. Subbaraj last directed Suriya and Pooja Hegde in Retro earlier this year.
