'The Devil' Trailer: Darshan Unleashes Terror In This Actioner
The Kannada film will hit the theatres on December 11.
"The sun won't stay eclipsed forever. And neither will I," says Darshan in the trailer of his anticipated upcoming Kannada film, The Devil. This could be a reference to both his tenacious character on screen and his real-life situation.
The actor, who is currently in prison for the alleged murder of Chitradurga resident Renukaswamy, is coming out with the release on December 11. The film's trailer was released by the makers on December 5. "You keep changing looks and countries. I have never seen the real you," says a character in the trailer, as it then cuts to glimpses of the actor in various settings. While the video remains tight-lipped about the film's plot, it gives us a look at Dhanush's, aka the Devil's, life.
Directed by Prakash Veer, the film also co-stars Rachana Rai, Achyuth Kumar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sharmiela Mandre. The movie is produced by J Jayamma of Shri Jaimatha Combines in association with Saregama Yodlee Films, with Thashwini Veer as the executive producer.
While Prakash has written the script, Kantharaj SS has written the dialogues for the movie. Other technicians include duo Ram-Lakshman, who have choreographed the action sequences, Santhu Master, who has choreographed the dance numbers, and Ajaneesh Loknath, who has composed the music. Harish Komme serves as the editor, and Mohan B Kere is the art director.
The Kannada film industry is bracing itself for an action-packed December, with three big-budget releases vying for audience attention during the Christmas season. After the success of Su From So and Kantara: Chapter 1, all eyes are now on Devil, headlined by Darshan, Sudeep-led Mark, and the ambitious action-fantasy drama 45. The Devil will also mark the second time a Darshan-starrer hits theatres without his presence in promotions, the first being Sarathi (2011), which went on to become a massive success.
