In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, actor Yash reflects on love and ambition, revealing how lucky he is to have the strength and support of his wife, actress Radhika Pandit.
On the expansive sets of Toxic, slated to be released in 2025, actor Yash reflected on balancing a high-octane career with a grounded personal life. In 2005, he shared the screen with actress Radhika Pandit in a Kannada TV series called Nanda Gokula; a decade later, they tied the knot on December 9, 2016. The two are now proud parents to a daughter, Ayra (5), and a son, Yatharv (4).
In conversation with Anupama Chopra, Editor of The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor opened up about his immense love and passion for films. He spoke of his drive to take bold risks in pursuit of his dreams, which prompted Chopra to ask what it’s like for his partner when he’s in a nation-building mood of taking Indian cinema to greater heights.
In matters of love, Yash began by expressing how lucky he is. “We’ve grown together,” he said. “It’s not easy to be my partner when I go wild with my decisions and career choices. The last few years [especially] have been crazy.”
As he spent years working on K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018), K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022) and the upcoming K.G.F: Chapter 3 — his wife stood firmly by his side. “Radhika is my strength; she has always supported me and knows me so well. I see her as a friend first and wife later,” he said.
“She’s the only person who has never asked me [questions like], ‘What did we get from this film?’ or ‘How much money have you made?’ Instead, all she asks is, ‘Are you happy?’” he continued, with a smile. “I know it may come across as too good to be true, but it’s the truth.”
Yash adds that all Pandit wants is his time and attention, and though that often proves difficult for him, he admits to trying his best.
“I'm ready to risk whatever I have for my goal or passion, and I don't have [any] pressure from my family. All of them support me and say, ‘You just enjoy your life’,” he adds.
