Tamil superstars Ajith Kumar and Vijay reunited at Silverstone, bringing together two of Indian cinema’s biggest celebrities in a rare public appearance. The actors met at the Michelin Le Mans Cup in the UK on Saturday (September 12, 2026), where Ajith was competing in the race and Vijay, now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, was present to flag off the event.

Vijay and his team are touring the UK for a week and intend to seek investments from Britain, along with researching successful models for establishing the Motor Sports City project for Tamil Nadu.

The long-awaited reunion quickly became a major talking point among Tamil cinema fans, with videos and photographs of Ajith and Vijay greeting each other and sharing a warm hug going viral on social media. The meeting comes more than three decades after the two actors began their careers in the film industry, and years after their respective fan bases turned their parallel stardom into the infamous "Thala vs Thalapathy” rivalry.

Ajith, who entered the race after finishing eighth in the qualification round, also urged fans to avoid creating chaos at the venue. Actor Trisha was also seen watching the race along with Vijay.
