Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Lekshmi’s 'Gatta Kusthi' to Get a Sequel

Vishnu Vishal will co-produce the movie under his banner Vishnu Vishal Studios with Vels Film International

On Monday, September 1, actor Vishnu Vishal posted a short video on his social media handles which showed him interacting with producer K Ishari Ganesh. In the video, which looks like a meeting between movie producer and star, we see Ishari Ganesh asking Vishnu Vishal about which sequel he wishes to make. After asking if they should collaborate to make the sequel of Mundassupatti, Ratchasan or Indra Netru Naalai, Vishnu Vishal says he wants to make a sequel to Gatta Kusthi.

The actor will co-produce the movie under his banner Vishnu Vishal Studios with Vels Film International.

The hit comedy released last year and it dealt with the story of a man who marries a wrestler. One of the highlights of the film was the interval fight sequence in which the Aishwarya Lekshmi’s character defeats a bunch of bad guys in order to save her husband (played by Vishnu Vishal).


It was directed by Chella Ayavvu. “Let’s Go Again. Second Round starts!” the post reads.

Aishwarya Lekshmi too features in the video and so did clips of other actors in the film. The clip also joked that the film’s second part could be about the issues the two leads face after marriage. The team expected to form Gatta Kusthi 2's crew includes DOP KM Bhaskaran, music composer Sean Roldan, editor Barath Vikraman, and art director S Jayachandran.

Other returning members include Karunas, Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat. Aishwarya Lekshmi was last seen in the Tamil blockbuster, the family-drama Maaman, starring Soori. She was also seen playing a small role in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life. Her last Malayalam release was Hello Mummy.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Vishal’s next release is expected to be Aaryan on October 31. The actor and his wife, badminton player Jwala Gutta, became parents to a baby girl earlier this year on April 22.
