'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai': Nivin Pauly-Anjali Starrer Announces October Release

Nivin Pauly shared the release date announcement teaser for director Ram’s Tamil fantasy adventure Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai on July 20. The film, which is also written by Ram and co-stars Anjali and Soori, will release worldwide in theatres on October 1, 2026.

The teaser shows Pauly's character, described as an "immortal man", travelling on a train, feeding a rat as Soori's character — "a good man" —stands by and watches. It also later shows Anjali's character, "a mystical woman", standing alongside Pauly as an elephant walks past them. The voiceover then explains that elephant or rat, tree or grass, everything is life and the very souls of our ancestors.

Nivin Pauly plays the lead, with Anjali as the female lead and Soori in a pivotal supporting role. Music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography is by N.K. Ekambaram and editing is by Mathi V.S. The film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi under the V House Productions banner.

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is directed by Ram, whose previous films include Paranthu Po (2025) and Thanga Meengal (2013).

Nivin Pauly is currently working on a slate of projects, including Bakkiyaraj Kannan's Benz. His upcoming releases include Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, co-starring Mamitha Baiju, which recently locked its August 21 release date.

The actor also announced his long-awaited reunion with director Alphonse Puthren, as the two will be reuniting for Vijayam, Pauly's 50th film. The actor-director duo are reuniting with this film after their blockbusters Neram and Premam.

Pauly was last seen in the hit horror comedy Sarvam Maya (2025).

Anjali's recent releases include Vishal's debut directorial, Magudam. The film saw the Vishal playing several characters, appearing as a corporate employee, a gangster and an older assassin. Anjali's previous projects include Ram's Paranthu Po (2025), Madha Gaja Raja (2025) and Iratta (2023) among others.
