It's been 10 years since Sobhita Dhulipala made her acting debut with Raman Raghav 2.0, and a decade of playing a diverse slate of women on screen. In an exclusive conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, the cover star reflects on the roles that have shaped her career and expresses her hope for a “long career of playing women who exist on their own terms.”

Dhulipala also reflects on what she envisions for herself in the next ten years. "I have never been someone who has been motivated by financial gains. At least, not yet. But I might have a phase where I want a more entrepreneurial life," adds the actor.

Dhulipala says that achieving her goals has gifted her more time to reflect on what she wants to experience in her years ahead as an actor.

"I would like to have a long career of playing women who exist on their own terms, as they are, and in all their diversity and complexity. I want to bring that charge to the table. I would love to have a life playing that (kind of role)."

She also unpacks her evolving understanding of love following her marriage to Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya. Earlier in her career, Dhulipala was convinced she would never date an actor, put off by what she perceived as vanity. Today, her perspective has evolved.

"I was stereotyping it at that point, maybe because that's what I saw around me," she says. "That was probably me having a narrow definition of the profession at that time."

Reflecting on this change within, Dhulipala remarks that she is more scared of people whose opinions never change. "I'm okay with having different opinions at different points of time; I'm okay with myself adapting."

Asked about her views on love, she says, "When I think of love, at the cost of sounding a little self-absorbed, I don't think it is just a relationship. It is a state of mind, it's like a vibration, and it's not just romantic. I'm always feeling love."
