It's going to be a historic weekend for the Indian film industry. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar's highly anticipated Dhurandhar 2 is ready to smash existing box-office records as it gears up for a grand global opening on March 19. Before that, the Ranveer Singh-led espionage actioner also has paid previews on March 18, shows of which are already getting sold out.

Titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the film is eyeing a historic ₹35-40 crore paid-preview start. The numbers are massive, especially when put into context of what the previous best from a Hindi film was: ₹8.75 crore nett, minted by Stree 2 in 2024.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge will also surpass the previous all-India paid-preview benchmark set by Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu actioner They Call Him OG, which clocked ₹25 crore. The film is aiming to sell around five lakh tickets for shows between 5 PM and 11.59 pm on Wednesday, higher than full opening day figures of many films.

According to trade estimates, the momentum will continue on day one (March 19), when the film releases widely globally. With over 11,000 shows already open for bookings in India, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is looking to register historic opening day figures as well.

As of now, the all-India opening day collections, including premieres, are estimated to be around ₹125 - 150 crore gross. When it comes to Hindi, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is looking to clock around ₹100-115 crore nett.

Globally, the film is looking at becoming the second highest Indian opener of all time, with an estimated worldwide day one gross of ₹225-250 crore. The record is currently held by Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which had grossed around ₹280 crore in 2024.

With a confirmed global day one box-office of more than ₹200 crore, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will set the benchmark for Hindi films, leading by a huge margin from the previous best, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which grossed arond 130 crore in 2023.

Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the sequel continues the journey of Indian intelligence agent Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who operates undercover in Karachi, infiltrating criminal syndicates and political power structures to dismantle a terror network threatening India.
