Featuring Ranbir, Kareena, Karisma, and multiple generations of the Kapoor family, the Netflix original explores their cinematic legacy, love for food, and enduring bonds.
Netflix has unveiled the official poster and release date for its upcoming documentary Dining With The Kapoors, a first-of-its-kind exploration of Bollywood’s most celebrated film family. The documentary, premiering on November 21, 2025, celebrates the Kapoors’ cinematic legacy, deep-rooted food traditions, and intergenerational stories that have shaped Indian cinema.
The Kapoor legacy began with Prithviraj Kapoor and was carried forward by his sons Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor — a lineage that continues through Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor. Dining With The Kapoors promises a rare, intimate look at the family’s personal and professional journeys, framed through their shared love for food and storytelling.
The newly released poster showcases the family across generations — featuring Ranbir, Kareena, Karisma, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Aadar Jain, Armaan Jain, Zahan Kapoor, Navya Naveli Nanda, and Agastya Nanda among the younger members, alongside Randhir Kapoor, Babita Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor. Netflix shared the image on Instagram with the caption: “Kapoor khandaan ka lunch invite aa gaya hai… and you’re invited. Watch Dining With The Kapoors, out November 21, only on Netflix.”
The documentary will also feature the extended Kapoor family, including Saif Ali Khan, Bharat Sahni, Manoj Jain, Nitasha Nanda, Kunal Kapoor, Shaira Kapoor, Neila Kapoor, Jatin Prithviraj Kapoor, Kanchan Desai, Namita Kapur, and Pooja Desai.
According to Netflix, the film delves into the Kapoors’ shared memories, their relationship with cinema, and the role of food as an emotional thread connecting generations. This marks the streamer’s first documentary centred on the Kapoor family, following last year’s Raj Kapoor birth centenary celebrations, during which the clan hosted a ten-film retrospective across 40 cities in India.
Creator and showrunner Armaan Jain described the project as a personal milestone. “This film has been one of the most incredible and emotional experiences of my life. It’s a dream I’ve carried since childhood — a chance to share my love for storytelling, food, and family with the world,” he said.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the documentary, he added, “Growing up in the Kapoor family, food and cinema weren’t just passions — they were what brought us together. The real magic happens around the dinner table, where stories, laughter, and memories define who we are. This film honours that legacy and celebrates the warmth that food and family bring.”
Dining With The Kapoors premieres exclusively on Netflix on November 21, 2025.
