Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's next film will be directed by actor Austin Dan Thomas in his directorial debut. The veteran actor made this announcement on social media along with a poster from the film. The poster features a police uniform hanging by the mirror, hinting at the actor's character in the film.

The film will be written by Retheesh Ravi, who most recently wrote the dialogue of Khalid Rahman's hit Malayalam film Alappuzha Gymkhana. Ravi has most popularly written the 2019 Malayalam film Ishq. Austin Dan Thomas, on the other hand, who has starred in films such as Thallumaala and Ganagandharvan (2019), has worked as the chief associate director in Midhun Manuel Thomas' Anjaam Pathiraa.
Among Mohanlal's upcoming lineup are Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam, alongside Malavika Mohanan and Premalu fame Sangeeth Prathap, Nanda Kishore's Vrusshabha, and Mahesh Narayanan's Patriot, alongside Mammootty and Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and Kunchacko Boban. The actor is also gearing up to shoot the anticipated Drishyam 3.
Drishyam 3 will go on floors in October. The makers of the film, including Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, recently shared the news on social media with a video. The promo begins with a shot of Georgekutty, and then cuts to a video of the actor with director Jeethu Joseph and producer Anthony Perumbavoor. "October 2025 — the camera turns back to Georgekutty. The past never stays silent. #Drishyam3," the actor wrote on X. According to reports, Ajay Devgn's Hindi adaptation will be shot simultaneously.
